Simple Woman's Daybook 8/29

I love participating in the Simple Woman's Daybook. I love taking the time to reflect, to ponder, and to share. For today...

Outside my window...an overcast day.

I am thinking...that math is my least favorite subject to teach.

I am thankful...that prayer is available anytime I need it.

In the kitchen...a sink full of dirty dishes. (It's been that kind of morning!)

I am wearing...a dress I only wear when I want to be really comfortable.

I am creating...nothing at the moment. But hoping to buy some new embroidery patterns soon.

I am going...to have some alone time. And soon!

I am wondering...if it's really going to rain all week like they are saying.

I am reading...Mission of Motherhood by Sally Clarkson. (It's going very slowly.)

I am hoping...that the children can get through school today without bad attitudes.

I am looking forward to...being done with school for the day!

I am learning...that prayer is an amazing mood lifter.

Around the house...there are chores to be done but I really just want a relaxing day.

I am pondering...ways to make the afternoon fun.

A favorite quote for today..."I am a little pencil in the hands of a loving God who is writing a love letter to the world." ~ Mother Teresa

One of my favorite things...my 3 year old's good morning hugs. Love those!

A few plans for the rest of the week: Finish school for the week, mow the lawn (if it doesn't rain), do something fun!

A peek into my day...

(Probably my children's favorite toy ever.)

If you can't tell, today hasn't been the best day. The school children are in a bad mood, it's rainy so they can't go outside, the house needs to be cleaned up, my husband has been working long hours lately, and I've been in a really weird funk all week. I'm not complaining. I know everyone has off days and weeks. It is weeks like this that make me SO thankful for prayer. Being able to take a few minutes and whisper a few prayers has been my lifesaver this week.

“We have to pray with our eyes on God, not on the difficulties.” ~ Oswald Chambers

Lately, when Evie gets stressed out (or just has some extra energy), she screams into a pillow. I tried it the other day. It really does work! Just a suggestion. :)
